There are three forms of Individual Health Insurance in Florida. They are Major Medical policies, HSA - Health Savings Account policies and , Limited Medical Benefit also called Hospital Indemnity policies.

Florida Major Medical Health Insurance polices are the most popular type of Health Insurance and are what is thought of as typical health insurance. This is the least expensive form of health insurance and it is guaranteed issue. This type of policy is not right for everyone but has it's uses and is very inexpensive.

Florida Life Insurance can be broken down into three basic forms: Term, Whole , and Universal.

Florida Term life insurance is guaranteed death benefit life insurance with a set premium for a specific amount of time. Whole Life Insurance is a form of insurance that will never expire and is designed to be kept until death. Whole life Insurance policies can also take the form of Final Expense Insurance also called Florida Funeral and Burial Insurance. Universal Life Insurance policies are a great way to combine tax free savings and a life insurance policy. Universal life insurance policies are generally held for the life of the insured and can build a cash value. This cash value can be borrowed against or used as collateral for a loan. A Florida Universal Life Insurance Policy will generally look like this :"John a 45 year old resident of Naples , FL has a Universal Life policy that pays $500,000 death benefit. John can pay a minium of $110 up to a maximum of $500. John can also skip a payment if he has built up a cash value by paying over the minium in past months". Florida Medicare Insurance Products

Florida Medicare Supplemental Insurance is for Medicare recipients that also have Medicare part A and B. A Florida Medigap Policy is used to cover the deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments that Medicare alone does not cover. The Medicare Supplement Plan F is the best Florida Medicare Supplemental Insurance policy and is sold by many private insurance companies.

Florida Medicare Part D - Prescription Drug Coverage, is an insurance policy that is purchased in addition to a Medicare Supplement plan.  All Medicare recipients need to have some form of prescription drug coverage to avoid the late enrolment penalty.  Florida Medicare Part D prescription drug plans are regulated by the government, but do have significant differences. Florida Medicare Part D Insurance benefits and prices can be different in each county and should be reviewed each year during the open enrolment period from October 15 - December 7..

Florida Medicare Part C Advantage Plans are private insurance that takes the place of Medicare Part A and B.  Florida Medicare Advantage plans are very similar to major medical health insurance that most people have had their entire working lives.  The Florida Medicare Advantage plans are organized by county and have network doctors and hospitals.  Most of these plans also include prescription drug coverage.
